When Governor Udom Emmanuel announced yesterday his proactive steps to tackle the pandemic Corona Virus disease, he was NOT mincing words about it.
Shortly after his inauguration, the Governor built and has fully equipped an Emergency Operations Center at the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) in Ikot Ekpene LGA of the state.
Today the center is fully renergised and designated as an Isolation Centre for any eventuality of COVIDー19 scourge in the state.
The fully equipped & ready centre with professional health personnel is on a 24hours service to handle any emergency.
An inner section is specifically prepared for any isolated case with four ensuite rooms and shower/changing room for medical staff.
There is also an open ward for contact with other patients.
A store, housing face masks, gloves, boots, hand sanitizers, protective clothing, and other essential is also available, fully equipped.
There is constant power supply at the center as government has provided generating plants while the laboratory runs on a dedicated solar power supply.
