ESIT EKET ELDERS, YOUTHS ENDORSE UBONG AKAI FOR CHAIRMANSHIP

The leading chairmanship aspirant in the forthcoming Local Government elections in Esit Eket, Mr. Ubong Akai on Monday continued his consultations and familiarity tour to the villages that made up wards 2, 3, 4, 8 and 10 in the area.
Addressing the people the communities, Mr. Ubong Akai said he came to consult them as well as seek for support ahead of the upcoming Local Government elections. He said he had long eyed the position of chairmanship in the area for some years now, but he had to wait for the right time to officially declare his interest.

He said with the support of the people, he will emerge victorious in the election, adding that he has so many live touching programmes for the people that would be unveiled and initiated when he is elected into office.

He noted that he is the most qualified person for the council job because of his pedigree in the private sector, and that he is not coming into the contest for any compensation, rather he will fight till the end of the race come election day. The aspirant said that he has realized some problems facing the people of the area which are unemployment, cultism as well as bad road network in the area and promised to target them one after the other if he is given the opportunity to serve.
In his words, “I have realized problems facing my people; and that is unemployment and cultism as well creativity. With the little idea that I have, I will make my people smile because I will create things that will benefit my people. I can assure you people that I will turn things around for good in Esit Eket LGA.” Akai reassured.

Mr. Akai while calling on the youths, women as elders to support his vision, disclosed that the primary elections of the PDP would be consensus and that the people should do well to preach is gospel in any political meeting they may found themselves.

He used the opportunity called of the people area to continue to support the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel till 2019 and beyond. He however charged the people to go back to their different units and wards to mobilize grassroots support for the Governor ahead 2019 governorship elections.
At separate venues, Chief A. U. Abia of ward 2 expressed happiness for the courage Mr. Akai had to aspire for the chairmanship position. While declaring his support for him, he advised the aspirant to go about with his normal consultations and that when the time comes, all stakeholders in the area will decide.

Chief Udo Onwong, a community leader in ward 4 in his response promised to preach the gospel of Mr. Akai and solicited support from the people of his community to actualize Ubong Akai’s vision. Others who spoke at different venues, tabled their problems before the aspirant which include; bad road network, electricity as well as empowerments. They described Mr. Akai as a vibrant youth man with a vision of taking Esit Eket LGA to the next level. They described the chairmanship aspirant as a sellable product.

At Etebi community where Mr. Akai went to consult the youths, the Esit Eket PDP youth leader, Prince Akan Etteudo called on the youths to continue to support the government of Deacon Udom Emmanuel till 2019 and beyond, while the Special Adviser to Akwa Ibom Youth Council, Mr. Braini Imosan charged the youths to continue to support the present administration as well as charged them support the PDP, saying that the Governor will continue to carry youths along in the scheme of things in his government.
High point of the consultations was the royal blessings and prayers from the community leaders.
