Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, on Monday launched an entrepreneurship scheme, RHAB-YESS, to provide funding for young Akwa Ibom entrepreneurs to achieve financial greatness.
According to the Speaker, the Rt Hon. Aniekan Bassey Youth Entrepreneurship Support Scheme (RHAB-YESS), “is aimed at mentoring and supporting young entrepreneurs to financial independence and greatness. It is to complement Governor Udom Emmanuel’s Enterprise Development Drive in the state.”
He further explained that, if properly taken advantage of, RHAB-YESS support will stimulate growth and consequently create employment for the teeming young population in the State.
Rt. Hon. Bassey also expressed his commitment to the Dakkada philosophy of the Udom Emmanuel’s administration in tackling unemployment in Akwa Ibom, saying “we are creating opportunities for small business owners to be encouraged. We want to make sure our enterprising youths align themselves completely to the Dakkada philosophy for a better future and a better Akwa Ibom.”
Interested persons are advised to visit the official website, www.rhabyess.com, follow the online application instructions and submit their entry, which should include “Bio Data (Name, Local Government of Origin, Date of Birth and Educational Qualification), Description of Business/Enterprise, Economic Importance of Business/Enterprise to Akwa Ibom State.”
Information from the scheme official website also has it that the proposed financial support will go to three businesses monthly in the range of N250,000, N150,000 and N100,000.
