EDUCATION: A’IBOM GOVT GRANTS N95M WAIVER ON STATUTORY LAND FEES FOR FCE, IDIDEP

… Says Gesture Aimed at Encouraging Collaboration with FG

In line with the Educational Advancement component of the ARISE Agenda, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has granted waivers on statutory land fees including ground rent and premium amounting to N95M, for the newly approved College of Education Ididep, Ibiono Ibom local government area.

The Governor made the pronouncement during his visit to the college premises Friday, September 15, 2023.

Speaking at the event, he said the gesture is basically to enhance smooth take off of the institution and to encourage collaboration between the State and federal government.

Governor Eno who is an apostle of inclusive governance, noted that the state will always encourage and collaborate with federal government as well as other development partners for the good of the state and country in general.

He advised that political parties should not be a hindrance to the development of the State, adding that political parties are platforms to achieve political powers after which governance must be inclusive and development oriented.

Governor Eno commended Senator Ita Enang for his efforts at attracting the institution and urged other well placed citizens of the state to emulate Senator Ita by bringing back good things to the State.

The Governor who was conducted round the school premises, said the visit was to facilitate the take off of the school, and assured that government will continue to support the school in anyway possible to ensure smooth operation.

According to him, “the government of Akwa Ibom State will always do its best to support any federal government project in the state. So here and now, we have waved the statutory fees. The CofO will be issued in seven days. This is to show good fate, and our determination to have inclusive governance and to enhance development of the state.”

It is on record that the State government is also supporting other federal institutions in the State including the Federal University of Technology Ikot Abasi (FUTIA).

Earlier in his remark, Senator Ita Enang said the Federal Government intends to commence academic activities in the school in few weeks and appreciated the Governor for the visit as well as his magnanimous support to enhance a smooth take off.

Also speaking, the local government Council Chairman, Hon Ekopimo  Polycarp appreciated the Governor for the visit, the support for the college as well as other projects in the area.

He assured that the people of Ibiono Ibom will continue to support the Governor and the ARISE Agenda of the administration.

The Governor was accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, State Executive Council members and many others
