EARCOM is a critical vehicle of public perception – Ememobong

The Honourable Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Akwa Ibom State, Comrade Ini Ememobong has described the Ethical and Attitudinal Reorientation Commission, EARCOM, as a critical vehicle for shaping public perception and understanding of Government policies and programmes.

Comrade Ememobong made this observation while addressing the Board, Management and Staff of EARCOM during a familiarization tour of the Commission today, Thursday, August 3, 2020.

Comrade Ememobong who commended the Dr Dorothy Thompson led EARCOM for the good job the Commission is doing with her social reorientation campaigns, however charged them to reinforce her operations and work harder in marketing the Completion Agenda of Governor Udom Emmanuel.

The Information Boss stressed that EARCOM should use her platform to
dissect the Dakkada Creed to chewable parts and make the Akwa Ibom people believe that, they are truly born great and therefore should activate the greatness in them.

Comrade Ememobong further charged EARCOM to sensitize the people to know that, it’s time to live the dream by understanding that, they ought to move beyond the mere history of State creation to the operation of the State to actualize her true potentialities and the Akwa Ibom Dream.

On the creation of awareness on the COVID 19 pandemic, Comrade Ememobong called for aggressive propagation of the COVID 19 Protocols by EARCOM so the people can imbibe the obligation to observe all the Protocols and guidelines to forestall the spread of the disease.

He enjoined parents to provide the children who are in the exit classes and have returned to school with face mask’s as they would not be allowed to sit for the West African Examination, NECO, and NABTED without it.

The information boss however warned that, It amounts to an economic crime against the State, for any Parent not to equip a child with face mask to write WAEC, as the State has since paid for the examination, adding that, the State Government can trace and prosecute such parents of kids who fail to sit for the examination on account of this breach.

Earlier, while welcoming the Information and Strategy Commissioner and his team, the EARCOM Chairman, Dr Dorothy Thompson, congratulated Comrade Ememobong on his appointment describing him as a square peg in a square hole.

Dr Thompson thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for identifying and appointing Comrade Ememobong into his cabinet and described his deployment to the Information Ministry as strategic and apt.

She noted that, EARCOM is a homecoming for Comrade Ememobong, who she said, has hitherto served as EARCOM Ambassador and Resource person for her many public and Reorientation campaigns on social vices and moral rectitude.

She pledged the readiness of the Commission to partner the Ministry of Information to propagate the programmes, policies and vision of the State Government.

In his vote of thanks, Hon. Victor Udofia a Board Member of EARCOM lauded Comrade Ememobong for hitting the ground running. He prayed God Almighty to grant him grace and wisdom to pilot the affairs of the Ministry to greater heights.

The parley was attended by top Director’s of the Ministry of Information and Members of the EARCOM Board.
