WHY I COMMISSION CONSTITUENCY PROJECTS – AKPABIO

Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio has said the knack for service to humanity is the motivating factor behind the commissioning of sustainable and life touching projects in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District in the past few months.
Speaking at Oruk Anam, Etim Ekpo and Ika Local Government Areas, Senator Akpabio said “you can only serve the people well by touching their lives through the provision of democratic dividends.”
At Oruk Anam, where he commissioned the 2.1Km Ikot Adia-Ukpom Road, Flood and Erosion Control Project, the Senator said the only way to effectively represent and connect with the people was for legislators at all levels to effect such projects in their respective constituencies.
He particularly thanked President Muhammadu Buhari and Senate President Bukola Saraki for approving the projects.
The Senate Minority Leader also appreciated Governor Udom Emmanuel for continuing the Ikot Esenam-Ukanafun Road, which he awarded as Governor, adding that his constituency projects were to complement the State Government’s development efforts.
Senator Akpabio further urged the people of the district to keep supporting Governor Udom Emmanuel in his quest to take Akwa Ibom State to the next level of development.
According to the Senator, “I am very proud of you for the support that you have given me since my election as the Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I thank you for the support you have given Mr. Udom Emmanuel since you elected him the Governor of the State. I am happy that you have shown that your support is intact for us and with this, we are sure that you will continue to support him in 2019 and beyond.”
He charged youths of the area to abstain from all forms of vices, stressing that “it is time to key into the Dakkada philosophy of Governor Udom Emmanuel by engaging in activities that will bring progress and development to the area.”
At Otoro Obong, Etim Ekpo, where he commissioned a 2-Unit, 10 market stalls at Mboho Annang Market, Senator Akpabio admonished the people of the areas to remain law abiding so as to attract more developments to the area, maintaining that he will strive to ensure the completion of some uncompleted roads in the areas through interventionist agencies of government.
The Senator, who also commissioned a Solar-Powered Borehole at Ikot Inyang Udo Village and Open Market/Stores at Urua Osukpong in Ikot Osukpong, Ika Local Government Area, said the numerous projects have given the benefitting communities a face-lift in terms of development.
