Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, has charged over 15 youths of the state, who are undergoing training in automobile repairs and oven-baked spraying, to be devoted and committed to their acquired skill.
Rt. Hon. Bassey gave the charge on Tuesday when beneficiaries of the Second Phase (Batch-Two) of his Skill Empowerment Programme, the Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey Youth Entrepreneurship Support Scheme (RHAB-YESS), stormed his Lagos Street residence with food stuff and gifts items to celebrate the Christmas with him.
Represented by his Director of Protocol, Hon. Desmond Etim, the Speaker urged the youth to continually exhibit virtues of hard work, determination, devotion, commitment and dedication to duty, saying “you are our ambassadors. RHAB-YESS will continue to support and encourage Akwa Ibom youth to self-dependence and financial greatness. So, make us proud by being the best.”
He also urged them to add value to the time and money invested on them through RHAB-YESS by reciprocating same in their respective families.
Speaking on behalf of the trainees, Mr. Joseph Bassey thanked the Speaker for finding them fit for the training and for investing so much on them, stressing that they were at his residence to show appreciation and to celebrate the Christmas with him.
He assured the Speaker of their unalloyed commitment to the RHAB-YESS programme, saying “Mr. Speaker, we want to assure you of our total commitment. We will not disappoint you. We wiill come out of this training in flying colours.”
The trainees were accompanied by their trainer and Chief Executive Officer of Insutel Motors Limited.
