AKWA IBOM STATE GOVERNMENT URGES FG TO SUPPORT STATE OWNED AIRPORTS

The Akwa Ibom State Government has urged the Federal Government to support State owned Airports in the country.
The Commissioner for Housing and Special Duties, Mr. Akan Okon made the case at the 4th Aviation Stakeholders Forum in Abuja, while thanking the minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika for the good work he is doing in the Aviation Sector in terms of Equipment and Facility upgrade.
Mr. Okon Stressed that there is need for Federal Government to lend a supporting hand to State owned Airports for effective service delivery. Noting that although established by the State Government, the Airport is being used by all Nigerians and non-Nigerians
The Commissioner also urged the Federal Government to strongly consider the MRO facility at Ibom Airport which is about 65% completed, in its quest to establish an MRO in the country whose transaction Advisers was unveiled at the forum.
