When Christopher Esin, popularly known as Mista Xto, fresh out of secondary school in 1991, won a Best Sunday Artiste award of the Cross River State Culture Centre Sunday Sunday Show, it was glaring that stardom in the world of music was imminent for him, if he was to tow that road.

Tow that road he did, and ten years later in 2001, same year he came out with his first album, he was nominated by the Award for Musical Excellence in Nigeria, AMEN, for Best Reggae Album Award. By 2005, he was already inducted into the Nigeria Musical Hall of Fame.

Mr Xto remains about the most popular home based artiste in the whole of Cross River and Akwa Ibom and has served the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, PMAN, as State Governor, Akwa Ibom State and Chairman, Governors Forum in 2006. He has also performed regularly at national and international shows and for events sponsored by multinational firms.

Mr Xto is not only a musician. He is also an Artiste Manager, voice trainer, songwriter, stage performer, singer, events manager, promoter and marketing consultant.

The old boy of Hope Waddel Training Institution, Calabar, attended the Lagos City Polytechnic, the University of Calabar and the National Open University of Nigeria from where he bagged a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution.
