AKSU CONVOCATION: A’IBOM SPEAKER TASKS GRANDUANDS ON INTEGRITY, SELF-RELIANCE

Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, has tasked young graduates of the Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) to continually strive to uphold virtues of integrity, hard work and self-reliance by developing entrepreneurial skill that will help them generate wealth for themselves.

 

At the 24th and 5th Convocation Ceremony of the Institution, Ikot Akpadem, Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, on Friday, November 8, 2019, Rt. Hon. Bassey, urged the graduates to be abreast with new innovations and entrepreneurial skill that would make them employers of labour and economic determinants of the nation.

 

The Speaker, who also congratulated the graduands for their hardwork, perseverance and commitment to academic excellence, lauds the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Eno Ibanga for successfully interpreting Governor Udom Emmanuel’s dream for the state-owned University and expressed optimism that the graduands of the institutions will add value to the society.

 

He further reminded the graduands that “graduation itself is not an end, but a requirement to getting to an end. I imploring you to put the vast training and experiences acquired her into good use.”

 

“It is in pursuance of this commitment that the Udom Emmanuel’s administration is inculcating in us the Dakkada philosophy,” he added.

 

The Speaker thanked the State Governor, who is also the visitor to the Institution, for raising the bar of education in the state and for the physical transformation witnessed in various campuses of Akwa Ibom State University.

 

 

Rt. Hon. Bassey called on other students of the University in various field of studies, to be studious, abide by the rules and regulations of the institution and eschew examination malpractice, cultism, thuggery and other social vices.
