AKSG LAUDS NPC, NSIT IBOM PEOPLE ON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF PRE-CENSUS EXERCISE

The Government of Akwa Ibom State has commended the efforts of National Population Commission (NPC) officials, following the successful completion of a scrupulous Phase III Enumeration Area Demarcation (EAD) exercise in the State. Government also gives the people  Nsit Ibom L.G.A. a pat on the back for serene atmoshpere in which the exercise was conducted.

Special Adviser to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State on Political, Legislative Affairs and Water Resources, Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Ekong Sampson gave the commendation when he visited the NPC officials at their Blue Ray Resort base in Nsit Ibom, as they rounded off the Phase III EAD exercise in the State.

The Honourable Special Adviser, in company of the Federal Commissioner of NPC, Engr. (Chief) Benedict Ukpong FNSE, also lauded the Transition Chairman of Nsit Ibom, Mr. Victor Umondak and the entire people of the area for their cooperation with the NPC officials throughout the period of the exercise. This, he added, was key to the hitch free conclusion of the exercise.

Barrister Sampson particularly commended the Engr. Ben Ukpong for ensuring that the conduct of the demarcation exercise in Akwa Ibom State was compliant with required standards. He said the level of dedication exhibited by the NPC boss in the State during the exercise was exemplary and thanked the field officers for walking as a team to ensure the successful and timely completion of the exercise.

The Special Adviser reiterated the importance attached to the pre-census exercise by His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel. He affirmed that the Governor was impressed at the State-centered commitment exhibited by the Honourable Federal Commissioner towards judicious performance of the exercise in the State, describing it as a demonstration of patriotism and selfless service.

The NPC Federal Commissioner was also full of thanks for the Udom Emmanuel led Government of Akwa Ibom State for its support towards the Commission’s programmes in the State. The Nta-nta Oro thanked the Governor for creating enabling environment for the Enumeration Area Demarcation and immense logistics support to aid the exercise in the State.

The Hon. Federal Commissioner said Akwa Ibom State Government having hosted the 1st and 3rd phases of the EAD exercises in Oron and Nsit Ibom respectively, has so far been exemplary in its support for the pre-census programme in the State.

Engr. Ben Ukpong expressed the appreciation of his Commission over the secure and hospitable environment maintained by the people of Nsit Ibom L.G.A. and Akwa Ibom State as a whole throughout the just concluded phase III of the exercise.

He disclosed his Commission’s plans to replicate the exercise in the remaining 29 LGAs of the State as soon as possible, soliciting that such cooperation be sustained and even improved upon in the subsequent phases.
