AKPABIO FETES IKOT EKPENE SENATORIAL DISTRICT YOUTHS

 

Senate Minority Leader and Senator representing Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, Senator Godswill Akpabio on New Year day dined and wined with youths across the 10 Local Government Areas of the Senatorial District and commended for political unity.

 

Senator Akpabio also expressed delight for the earlier endorsement for himself and the Governor; Mr Udom Emmanuel for second term by the youths of the district.

 

The Senator spoke in his country home in Ukana, Essien Udim Local Government when the youths paid him a visit to celebrate the New Year with him.

Senator Akpabio promised to work for the political inclusion of more youths in the affairs of the state while charging them to continue to exhibit unity among them.

 

President of Ikot Ekpene Youth Assembly, Mr Ubokobong Umoh had extolled Senator Akpabio as a politician with the interest of the youths at heart. He recalled that it was during the tenure of Godswill Akpabio as Governor of Akwa Ibom State that the youths assumed prominent positions in the state.

 

Mr Umoh also commended Senator Akpabio for effective representation at the National Assembly and said the youths of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District were very proud of the achievements of the Senator. He particularly thanked the Senator for the Senatorial briefing and empowerment programme which he described as unprecedented.

He recounted that it was in realization of the effective leadership of Senator Akpabio that the youths of the Senatorial District sponsored him for the election into the Senate and vowed to support him to go for a second term. The youths unanimously vowed to always support the leadership of Senator Akpabio and said they would always stand by him politically.

 

High point of the New Year celebration was the donation of 10 cows, 100 bags of rice and cash to the youths on a local government basis.

 

Senator Akpabio wished the youths a prosperous new year and urged them to march into 2018 with hope of a better future.
