Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, on Tuesday, decorated five newly promoted officers of the Nigeria Police Force attached to him and the Assembly with new ranks.
The Speaker, who performed the brief ceremony in his office shortly after plenary, said the promoted officers are being rewarded for their diligence, hard work, commitment and dedication to duties.
Rt. Hon. Bassey, who is also the Vice Chairman of Conference of Nigerian Speakers and Chairman of South-South Speakers’ Forum, congratulated the five officers, promoted from the rank of Sergeant to Inspector, and charged them to “be more dedicated to duty and also see your new status as a call to higher responsibility.”
“I want to commend all the police officers working in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, and specifically those attached to me, for their commitment, dedication and sacrifices at all times. I know each and every one of you. I have seen honesty in you. I have seen diligence in you. I have seen commitment in you. So, I pray for more successes for you,” the Speaker said.
The promoted officers are Robert Igri, Hassan Tella, Aniekan Williams, Marc Augustine and Kufre Okon of the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB).
