Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, has said that the State is an investors Haven with beautiful topography and an enticing coastal landscape suitable for various business concern.
Governor Emmanuel stated this while interacting with the Consul
General of United States Of America in Nigeria, Mr. John Bray, during a
courtesy visit at the Executive Council Chamber Government House, Uyo.
He said that Nigeria has had an enduring economic collaboration with
the United States and sued for increased bilateral relationship with
the American investors.
Governor Emmanuel said that the state has laid the necessary
infrastructure with an International Airport undergoing expansion for
cargo Aircraft adding that the state is blessed with arable land
suitable for Agriculture while the coastal areas is suitable for
seaport and other downstream development and solicited partnership to break new grounds in accordance with International best practice.
He assured the Consul General of good road infrastructure across the
Local Government Areas of the state which he said are habitable by
hospitable citizens.
Earlier the Consul General John Bray said that he was in the state to
identify areas of investments and assured that investors from his home
Country are ready to invest in the state provided security, transparency in transaction and democratic principles are guaranteed and assured that his country is looking forward to more bilateral cooperation with Nigeria.
Earlier at a special Gala held where the American Envoy was treated
to the best Akwa Ibom hospitality and delicacies, Governor Emmanuel
lauded the United States Of America for their investments in the Oil
sector, Airlines Operation and other trade links saying the investment
has given a boost to the Nigerian economy by creating employment.
He thanked the Consul General for the visit saying that it will enable
them to identify other areas of economic transaction in view of the
abundant economic and human potentials in Akwa Ibom and prayed for the best candidate to emerge as President of America In the forthcoming election.
Mr. John Bray expressed appreciation to the government and people of
Akwa Ibom state for the honour done him and members of his entourage
and particularly lauded the DAKKADA CREED as being inspirational.
The Consul General who said he has been in Nigeria for a long time in
various post of responsibility described Akwa Ibom as the most
peaceful states in the country with a congenial business environment
and congratulated the state government for the available
infrastructure.
