The political climate in Akwa Ibom was electrified on Tuesday when the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) announced its readiness to enter the election arena by presenting its Chairmanship candidates for the forthcoming Local Government election to the public.
A Government House source that spoke with our reporter on the condition of anonymity, said has bounced back stronger and ready to win the race, stressing that “knotty issues that would have weighed down the party in state have been resolved.”
He also said that the recently concluded nomination exercise across the state was a huge success, maintaining that “Governor Udom Emmanuel had prevailed on the party to ensure zoning, equity, justice and a level playing grounds for aspirants.”
While reinstating his party’s preparedness for local Government elections, our source appealed to all party members, particularly aspirants who were not fortunate to have emerged as Chairmanship candidate or Councillorship candidate not to be weary of their support to the party, those that picked the tickets and the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
The Chairmanship candidates that will be flying the PDP flag in the forthcoming Local Government elections are Imo Attat (ONNA), Victoria George Tallick (Eastern Obolo), Frank Archibong (Eket), Iniobong Robson (Esit Eket), Ifum Henry (Ibeno), David David (Ikot Abasi), Asukwo Effiong Eyo (Mbo), Ekanem Andrew Brown (Mkpat Enin), Ubuo Ubuo (Okobo), Anthony Bassey Etim (Oron), Okon Esin Oku (Udung Uko), and Umana Edet Efonmbruh (Urue Offong Oruko).
Others are Cletus Asuquo Ekpo (Etinan), Sylvester George (Ibesikpo Asutan), Akpan Ekomabasi Sunday (Ibiono Ibom), Barr. Etetim Onuk (Itu), Emem Emmanuel Ibanga (Nsit Atai), Eric Effiong Akpan (Nsit Ibom), Bassey Udeme Sylvanus (Nsit Ubium), Henry Isaiah Udofia (Uruan), Imo Asuquo Okon (Uyo), Gabriel Michael Etim (Abak), Raphael Isobara (Essien Udim), Udeme Wilson Eduo (Etim Ekpo), Anthony Udousung (Ika), Itoro Columba (Ikono), Unyime Etim (Ikot Ekpene), Israel Uwem Idaisin (INI), Anietie Udoudo (Obot Akara), ubong Idiong (Oruk Anam), and Uko Okon Idiong (Ukanafun).
