A’IBOM GROUP LAUNCHES ‘STUDENTS MUST HAVE NATIONAL IDENTITY CARD PROJECT’

The Amayam Conscience Group, a socio-political entity of Amayam Clan in present-day Ikot Ekpene is rolling out drums to herald their Education for Development Initiative, tagged, “Students Must Have National Identity Card”.

According to the Facilitator of the Group, Prince Samuel Ukut, the project is aimed at ensuring that candidates for NECO/WAEC Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination, are equipped for upward academic progression.

Otuekong Denis Nyoro, the Secretary of the Group buttressed that one of the conditions for eligibility to sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is the possession of a valid National Identity Card. That is why the group has taken it upon itself to sponsor willing and eligible students in Ikot Ekpene LGA, who are earmarked to sit for the 2020 NECO/WAEC Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination to have their valid National Identity Cards.

The importance and sensitivity of this project have earned the support and endorsement of Very Reverend (Dr) Otuekong Ukut, who has agreed to Flag off the Project as the Chairman of the occasion.

The Group through the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Comrade Ukpeme Ekanem do heartily invite, the Executive Chairman of Ikot Ekpene LGA, Hon. Unyime Etim, the entire executive and legislative council to the flag-off of the project, scheduled for Monday, November 25, 2019 at the Amayam Comprehensive Secondary School, Mbiaso, Ikot Ekpene by 10.30am.

Special invitation goes to the Chairman of Ibom Power, Engr. Etido Inyang, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sustainable Development Goals, Ntufam Elijah Iyak, Commissioner, Local Government Service Commission, Engr. John Asikpo, and Director in the Akwa Ibom State Internal Revenue Service,Mr. Leo Umanah.

The event will be nourished by the presentation of gift items to students and schools who stood out in the inaugural free holiday lessons, with Pastor (Hon.) Sunny Ibuot as Special Guest of Honour, alongside Hon. Justice Ekerette Ebienyie and Fred Iwok, State Co-ordinator NIMC, Akwa Ibom State.

The Group also invite stakeholders in the education sector, spirited individuals and the general public to the occasion.
