A’IBOM ELECTIONS: EKPENE UKIM VILLAGE HEAD SUES FOR PEACE

The village head Ekpene Ukim group of villages, Eteidung Christopher Okon Etim has called on the youths of the village to embrace peace in the forth coming election.

Speaking at a special Youth meeting of Ekpene Ukim as arranged by Akparawa Michael Bush on Saturday 2nd March, 2019, The village head, Eteidung C. O. Etim stressed that he was informed that during the last election there was so much issues of insult and fighting against our brothers and sisters and he sued for peace in the forth coming elections. Eteidung Etim finally called on the Youths of Ekpene Ukim to vote for candidate of their choice.

In his speech, The Peoples Democratic Party Leader Southern Uruan ward five, Akparawa Michael Bush who doubled as the convener of the meeting condemned in totality action of some youths in the community who bent on insulting our elders in the name of politics and finally called on all to support candidate of our choice.
Speaking further, Akpawara Michael Bush called on the youths to always emulate his style stressing that humility is the key to success saying that what he enjoyed today from Governor Udom Emmanuel is as a result of humility and dedication to service.

Also speaking, Otuekong Bonny Nyong said that politics is local that Ekpene Ukim Youths should keep sentiment aside and keep supporting each other stressing that unnecessary sentiment in Ekpene Ukim is the problem of Ekpene Ukim and finally called on all to embrace peace by allowing one another to vote for candidate of his/her choice without rancour.

In his response, The Candidate of All Progressive Congress, Hon. (Obong) Kufreabasi Etuk appreciated the convener of the meeting Akparawa Michael Bush for the meeting, he promise not to let him down for that singular honour done his community stressing that we should always support and promote the unity of Ekpene Ukim without sentiment. He finally called on the youths to toe the part of peace during the forth coming election.

Etim and his cabinet; Akparawa Michael Bush; Otuekong Bonny Nyong; Chairman, Ekpene Ukim Village Council, Mr. Justine Eyoh; Supervisor for Political and Chieftaincy affair, Mr. Uduak Essien Effiong; Former Councillor Southern Uruan Ward 5, Hon. Sunday Umoren; Youth Leader, Ekpene Ukim, Etubom Gregory Akpan; Obong Godwin Ndem; Mr. Solomon Essien ; among others.
