Terrorist group, Boko Haram has reportedly released about twenty-one of the abducted Chibok school girls to the Nigerian Government.
Recall that the Islamic sect had in 2014 abducted over 200 girls from their dormitory in government Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State.
According to reports, the girls were picked up by military helicopter from Banki area of the state where the terrorist group dropped them off earlier today.
Reacting to the development, former Minister of Education and foremost campaigner of the BringBackOurGirls group, Oby Ezekwesili has poured out emotions towards the release of 21 Chiboks girls by Boko Haram militants
Mrs. Ezekwesili on her social media account said: “As WE @BBOG_Nigeria wait for FG and #ChibokParents identification of OUR 21 #ChibokGirls, THANK YOU, LORD. THANK YOU, @MBuhari .Thank you.
“I can only weep, right now. You know that kind of cry that is a mix of multiple emotions. Lord. Some of OUR Girls ARE BACK!!! B. A. C. K. It is 4am in California and I can no longer sleep. Join me in singing the words of Psalm 126… “When the Lord turned again the CAPTIVITY…”
Meanwhile, a Boko Haram commander said the release of the first batch of Chibok girls involved a prisoner swap of detained Boko Haram militants.
