Call him a stubborn grasshopper. You may not be wrong. Because he’s indeed wilful to a fault. The man that annoys even the devil himself. Because his actions, words and existence speaks no volume. But seek him early in bad light and you shall find him million times. He’s one in a few whose name rings bell in corruption in high places. That’s why Godswill Obot Akpabio is always mentioned in almost irritating scenarios.
What shall we not hear? About one man creating a thousand scenes. Exploring the world with disgusting attitudes. What then shall we not see? That one man is a disgrace to millions of people. Whether they call it wonders or surprises. It shall never cease to happen. Right from when he came around. I mean from 2006. Things have never been the same. Moving from bad to worst. From frying pan to fire. Just one man with a dangerous character. Stirring the existence of men with breaking news. And finally, lands us where we are now!
Something terrible happened last Friday. I mean those funny court judges in DSS detention. It’s so disgraceful. So shameful as well. Crazy politicians blinded their eyes. With stolen funds. And they delivered a fraudulent judgement on the 2015 general elections. Now that it has been displayed publicly. They can’t even deny. And we’re beginning to believe. That most of our judges are more corrupt than politicians. Dashing the hopes of common men with impunity. They dress in costly apparels. Deceiving their own selves. To the remaining ones. You must know that Judges should beware of hard constructions and strained inferences, for there is no worse torture than that of laws.
Just as most people were expecting. It’s here and now. After killing and forging figures to win last elections. They went and bribed judges to scale through the various litigations. And those judges foolishly tilted to their demands. Not knowing that their time was running fast. Now that those judges have been arrested. And monies recovered from them. The whole world is waiting. So anxiously. Because what happened in secret must be discussed in open. It happened at night. Where nobody sees. Forgetting that there’s an eye that looks beyond. But why is it always Godswill Akpabio?
Accordingly, a Supreme Court Judge, John Inyang Okoro. Our own brother led the way to the altar of supreme racketeering. That’s where the fraud took place. Meaning that the sanctum was defiled. And the heart of men demeaned. But they probably wasted billions of naira for a selfish course. Meaning that they didn’t have us in mind. It’s not now that we know. That most of our leaders are satanic. And now, they can’t pay salaries. Just because of useless bribe. The former governor Godswill Akpabio’s was mentioned. But why is it always Godswill Akpabio?
The name Godswill Akpabio started ringing in 2006. That’s when he said he wanted to be governor. And then won election as governor in 2007. Since then, his name has always been identified with calamities. Killings. Kidnappings. Assassinations. Bribes. Womanizing. Forging of documents. Deceptions. Frauds. Not for once, will we dance to welcome him on a good note. Always on a phony existence. But why that way?
I wouldn’t forget in haste the travails of Engr. Frank Okon. It was bribe and forging all-through. How about Steve Ibanga? Imo Udo, John James Udoedehe and the rest. Nothing gave Akpabio victory in those cases than bribery and corruption. He was like a roaring lion. Bulldozing everywhere. Claiming untouchable. Behaving like there’s no God in heaven. Not knowing that a time comes when his count will cease to vibrate. Yes, we know that the Akpabios were untamed. Their stories went wild. And the presidency at that time seemed weak and helpless. The fraud had a smooth passage. And the judiciary system was feeble. But why is it always Godswill Akpabio?
For eight consecutive years. Akwa Ibom State was in the threshold of fund wastage. We witnessed how public funds were thrown into endless seas. And the public became poorer. We saw how things went from bad to worst. How about the billions of naira burnt to ashes. We know too well that behind the facade of our government are a bunch of corporate controlled gangsters running the system. But why is it always Godswill Akpabio?
When Buhari came. He promised to fight corruption. And he’s doing just that. We’re happy that he came. In a time like this. Where Godswill Akpabio and his gangsters can no more have their ways. The arrest has begun. Immediately, when the news engulfed all corners. A sponsored story filtered the air. That Akpabio’s name was not mentioned. Anietie Ekong was the author. He rushed to make such baseless explanations. Why lie to us when the event has already been unfolded? Why try to defend the wicked in the midst of plenty evidences? Even if Akpabio did not do it, but why is it always his name?
When his tenure almost ended. He introduced someone to continue from where he stopped. A man that is dancing to his tune. Meaning that as long as they continue in power. The people may not be freed. Now that the state is stagnated. All what we hear is numerous blames on the Federal Government. Just to divert attention from their wicked deeds. They know too well. That they’re the cause of our present woes. Causing the people many sleepless nights. But why that way?
They called ‘Divine Mandate.’ I’m still wondering how a stolen mandate could be ‘divine.’ Meaning that the whole thing was a scam. Now that Godswill Akpabio and his gangsters are gradually exposed. The whole secret will be revealed. How and when it happened. Akwa Ibom people will then know with evidence that they have been duped. It’s just a matter of time. The people shall be liberated!
