Youth leaders of Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area under the aegis Forum of Village Youth Presidents have expressed their solidarity and readiness to support the senatorial ambition of the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey.
The village youth leaders, who made this known on Monday at Ikpa Ikot Ubo, Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, promised to canvass for votes and ensure victory at the polls for Rt. Hon. Bassey, the Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking on behalf of the Youth Leaders, the Village Youth President of Ikpanya, Mr. Essien Johnson Essien, assured the Speaker of victory and maximum support from Ibiono Ibom youths in all the villages across the 11 Wards of Local Government Area.
In his remarks, the Candidate of the PDP for Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency, Barrister Ime Okon, explained the ample benefits that the youth of Ibiono Ibom will get, if Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey is elected a Senator for the Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District.
He charged the youth to ensure victory for the PDP for the prosperity of the area and Akwa Ibom State, stressing that PDP is the only party with prepared plans to rescue Nigeria and return things to normal.
Responding, the Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial Candidate thanked the Ibiono Ibom youth leaders for the show of solidarity and for the honour done him, maintaining that “the village youth leaders are the most powerful entity of Government, with critical roles in every administration.”
While urging them to stand firm and support the PDP in the forthcoming elections, he said the village youth forum is one platform of government whose contributions can never be undermine in every election.
Rt. Hon. Bassey assured Ibiono Ibom youths of inclusiveness and partnership when he emerged Senator with a promise to give premium attention to youth development and empowerment.
