The PDP gubernatorial flag bearer in Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, has pledged to partner with the People’s Democratic Party for the ultimate development of the State.

Pst. Umo Eno who spoke during a solidarity visit to the State Exco of PDP, today, August 3rd, 2022, reiterated his resolve to run an inclusive government that will carry every member of the party along when he emerges as governor come 2023.

He stated that there is a comprehensive plan in place to ensure the development of Akwa Ibom State in all ramifications, and added that the Arise Agenda holistically captures his aspirations for the people of the State.

“No other candidate can match the programmes that we have. We have The Arise Agenda which is a blueprint of our aspirations that will stimulate our economy and put money in the pockets of our youths, as well as create for them jobs which will give them the sense of dignity in labour.

“Agricultural Revolution, Infrastructural Maintenance and Development, Security and Environmental Management, and Economic and Sound Educational Management” makes up the acronym of the ‘Arise Agenda’.

“We will vigorously pursue this agenda and build on the structures; development, industrialization, and infrastructure that our Governor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel has already put on ground.”

He further thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for ensuring the sustainability of the party and registered his commitment in consolidating his giant strides.

Lending his voice on the need for members of the party to stay united, Pst. Umo Eno commended the party for setting up a reconciliatory committee to reconcile every party member towards a collective purpose.

“I have been engaging in establishing contact with stakeholders, talking with them to see how we can sort things out in the party, and we are beginning to see the fruits.

“I am someone who listens a lot.
If any member of the party is aggrieved, I don’t mind driving to your house, but make sure you keep one bottle of drink and prepare barbecue so we can sit down, discuss, sort our differences and we can all be friends.”

“This party belongs to all of us: There will be offences and there will be misunderstandings, but you don’t tear down your house because you have a quarrel with your wife. There is always a way to sort out our differences.”

He admonished party members against entertaining fears and doubts about his all-inclusive plan, stating that if by God’s grace he emerges winner of the 2023 gubernatorial election in the state, all the party members will have a place in the government.

In his remark, the Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rt. Hon. Aniekan Akpan expressed satisfaction over the emergence of Pst. Umo Eno as the party’s flag bearer, as well as the prospect of having a competent and experienced hand as running mate in the person of Senator Akon Eyakenyi, who will be the first elected female Deputy Governor in Akwa Ibom State.

He further assured Pst. Umo Eno and Sen. Ekakenyi of the party’s unalloyed support in the upcoming gubernatorial election.
