Ahead of the 2023 general elections, stakeholders and leadership of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibeno Local Government Area have assured the candidate of the party for Eket/ONNA/Esit Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Okpolupm Etteh, that “victory in the forthcoming elections is sacrosanct.”

The stakeholders, who made this known on Saturday at the Ulok-Ulok Hall, Upenekang, during an enlarged stakeholders meeting, said they would rally support from all sons and daughters of Ibeno to ensure total victory for the party and all its candidates in 2023.

Setting the tone for the meeting, the Chapter Chairman of the party, Hon. Emah Ibok, commended the stakeholders and the leadership of PDP for their unwavering commitment and steadfastness to the party.

While maintaining that PDP is committed to working hard and to leading the party to victory in 2023, he encouraged the people to brace up, get their PVCs and ensure victory for all candidates of the party.

In his remarks, the Local Government Council Chairman, Chief Williams Mkpah, urged the people to remain united and secure victory for PDP for the progress of Ibeno and its people.

He reassured the people of the Council’s commitment and preparedness to ensure PDP maintains power in Akwa Ibom and install its candidates during the 2023 general elections.’

Also speaking, a State Officer of the party, Mrs. Grace Ekpe-Nko, appealed to the stakeholders to continue to work together in their commitment and determination to have total winning in 2023.

Two State House of Assembly Aspirants, Mr. Samuel Ekpe and Mr. Erastus Affia, who also spoke, said the party is supreme and its decision for peace, unity and the progress of Ibeno, assuring that they will go all the way for PDP’s victory in the forthcoming elections.

Others who also spoke including the Leader of Ibeno Legislative Council, Hon. Ekemini Abang; a Special Assistant to the Governor, Apostle Samuel Eka, and the pioneer Vice Chairman of Ibeno Local Government Council, Prince Inyang Eyo-Ita, commended the party for convening the meeting and appealed to stakeholders to continue to promote unity for the success of the party.

In his response, the candidate of the party for Eket/ONNA/Esit Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Etteh, who was in attendance at the meeting, presented himself to the people and expressed confidence that “PDP will win in Ibeno and in other parts of Akwa Ibom because Ibeno and Akwa Ibom State are strongholds of the PDP.”

Vice Chairman of Ibeno Local Government Council, Mrs. Ethel Ifum; Secretary of Council, Mr. Johnson Ukalom; Special Assistant to the Governor on Project Monitoring, Hon. Ekoakwaha Etteh; Ibeno Coordinator of the Maintain Peace Movement (MPM), Hon. Henry Ekpe-Nko; Hon. Joshua Mkpat; Elder Utip Ekong; and Chapter Woman Leader, Naomi Peters, among others, were at the meeting.
