2019: UKPONG-UDO STORMS COUNTRY HOME IN THANKSGIVING TO IKONO YOUTHS

Philanthropist and candidate for the House of Representatives on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Obong Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo, on Friday stormed his Ndiya, Ikot Akpa Edet, country home in Ikono Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State to thank youths of the area for their solidarity and support during the party primary elections, reassuring that he will ensure youth empowerment, job creation and provision of scholarship to students, if elected in 2019.

While addressing the gathering, Obong Ukpong-Udo, fondly called Macaire, said he has always projected and supported the interest of the people of the area and desired to do same in a higher capacity by holding the mandate of Ikono/INI Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

The National Assembly hopeful charged teeming supporters and the people of Ikono Local Government Area to keep faith with PDP and replicate the same support to all its candidates, ranging from the State House of Assembly, Governorship and Senate to Presidency.

Obong Ukpong-Udo, who is the political leader of Ikono, said, if elected, he would ensure the entire Federal Constituency enjoyed total democratic dividends.

He urged the people of the area, particularly the youths, to remain resolute and stand tall with the party to ensure landslide victory for Governor Udom Emmanuel and other candidates of the party.

Speaking during the event, the State House of Assembly candidate for Ikono State Constituency, Mr. Asuquo Nana, called on the people of the area to respect constituted authority, stay united and work for the good and progress of PDP and Akwa Ibom State.


He reassured the gathering that in due time, the party’s candidates for Ikono/INI Federal Seat and Ikono State House of Assembly seat will stabilized the Local Government.

Also speaking, the PDP Chapter Chairman of Ikono, Barrister Moses Akpan, thanked the people of the area for their steadfastness and unrelenting support to Governor Udom Emmanuel, Obong Ukpong-Udo, the party and all its candidates.

Barrister Akpan said Obong Ukpong-Udo’s emergence typified divinity and the will of God, adding that the party will continue to canvass support for him and all the other candidates.

He expressed optimism that the candidates’ strengths, doggedness and victories, which according to him were eminent at the party primary elections, will led to subsequent victory in 2019.

The Chapter Chairman described the party’s candidates as assets to the people and said he was confident of victory in 2019 and urged supporters to stand firm.

In his remarks, the Director General of Mkpoikan-Abasi Campaign Organization, Barrister Edet Inyangidim, said candidates of the party were undeniable signposts of landslide victories for PDP in 2019.

Stressing further, the Director General said 2019 elections will certainly be a walkover for PDP and the Mkpoikana-Abasi Campaign Organization.

Engr. Sylvanus Nyauko, who spoke on behalf of former aspirants during the primaries, said their aspiration did not come through, they will continue to work and support the party and all its candidates beyond 2019.


He urged youths of the area not to allow themselves to be use as vices to hinder the progress and development of the PDP administration.

Goodwill messages also came from Mr. Kelly Okon, John Bassey, Prince Idotenyin Etokobong (Vice Chairman of Ikono Local Government Council), Joseph Okon, Forum of Village Youth Presidents, Council Forum, students among others.
