2019: UKPONG-UDO PICKS HOUSE OF REPS’ FORM

Philanthropist and frontline aspirant for the Ikono/INI Federal Constituency seat on the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Obong Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo, has said he will focus on grassroots development and human capital empowerment, if he wins the 2019 elections.
Obong Ukpong-Udo, who was accompanied to the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja by stakeholders and supporters to pick up his nomination form, promised to transform his Federal Constituency vis-à-vis Akwa Ibom State into investors’ hubs for economic growth.
“When I come on board, I will focus on the transformation of my federal constituency and Akwa Ibom State into a destination of choice and investors’ hubs for economic growth. That means grassroots development and human capital development shall be my focus,” he said.
“I also hope to complement the industrialization drive of Governor Udom Emmanuel through my representation. Whatever I will do during my tenure as the representative of Ikono and INI Local Government Areas, I will do to bring manpower development and also harness its inherent natural endowment and resources. This will create jobs, take our people off the streets and create an income base for the economy to grow.”
Obong Ukpong-Udo also said he will focus on capacity building and push legislation that “will improve the income base of my people, create a vibrant middle class and build an entrepreneurial spirit in the people of my federal constituency and Akwa Ibom State.”
“My aspiration is borne out of the yearnings of my people. It is a collective decision of the people across the Ikono/INI Federal Constituency to have a bridge builder, a calm, confident leader with integrity, a man who has character, discipline and focus,” he said.
