Philanthropist and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ikono/INI Federal Constituency, Obong Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo, alongside the party’s candidate for Ikono State Constituency, Mr. Asuquo Nana, have promised that if elected in the general elections, they will offer better and people-oriented representation, adding that they “will ensure inclusive governance.”
The candidates, who were also joined by the candidate for Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, Engr. Chris Ekpenyong, stated this on Friday during a tour of Ward 10, 6, 7 and 8 of Ikono Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
While addressing the people of Ikono Local Government Area who turned out in a carnival, Obong Ukpong-Udo (Macaire) said “I promise you, if am elected, I will form an inclusive governance and system of representation where everyone will be included.
Obong Ukpong-Udo and Mr. Nanan were accompanied by Sir S.U Akpan, Barrister David Udoh, Obong Bassey Inuaeyen, Mr. Itoro Columba, Sir Victor Etefia, Edet Umotong, Chief Okon Akpanusung, Victor Akang, Barrister Moses Akpan, Barrister Peter Essien, Hon. Godwin Akpan,, Akparawa Edet Umoren, Inem Inyangete, Hon. Ekpema Mbaba, Barrister Goddy Umoh, Mfon Out, Lady Idorenyin Dan, Lady Edikan Dennis, Chapter officers, Ward Chairmen among others.
In his remarks, the Ikono Chapter Chairman of PDP, Barrister Moses Akpan, urged the people of Ikono Local Government to use their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) and change Nigeria by voting for all the candidates of the party.
Responding, the people of Ikono Local Government assured the candidates of their total votes but appealed that, when elected, they should spread dividends of democracy to women and youths of the area; create access roads and other infrastructural development.
