National and State Secretariats of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have become a beehive of activities as persons aspiring to various political offices, alongside their supporters, are seen thronging in and out the venues.
In Akwa Ibom State, a statement by the State Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, said “In line with the directive by the National Headquarters of our party, sales of forms will commence tomorrow at our state secretariat at 113Edet Akpan Avenue, Uyo from 9 am. A one stop help desk will be activated to aid all aspirants especially those seeking to interface with the National Headquarters.”
The statement further informed that “Aspirants will purchase the nomination forms at the amount prescribed by national Secretariat alongside the expression of interest form and payment of an administrative charge. In our party’s customary gender friendly disposition, the nomination form is free for all female aspirants.”
Information before Ibom Telegraph Political Desk revealed details for the categories of nomination forms to include Presidential (Expression of Interest – N2,000,000 and Nomination – N10,000,000); Governorship (Expression of Interest – N1,000,000 and Nomination – N5,000,000), Senate (Expression of Interest – N500,000 and Nomination – N3,000,000), House of Representatives (Expression of Interest – N500,000 and Nomination – N1,000,000), House of Assembly (Expression of Interest – N100,000 and Nomination – N500,000), National Delegates (Nomination – N20,000) and 3-Ad-Hoc Delegates (Nomination – N5,000).
The information also has that “All interested aspirants for the Presidential, Governorship, Senate and House of Representatives elections are to purchase their forms from the Office of the National Financial Secretary at the National Secretariat, Abuja. All aspirants for the State Houses of Assembly elections are to purchase their forms at the National Secretariat or their respective State Party Secretariats. For all those that will be interested to be National or Ad-Hoc delegates, they are requested to purchase their nomination forms at the National Secretariat or their respective State Secretariats. Modality for collection and submission of nomination form for any category is the same venue used during purchase.”
All forms are to be collected and submitted on or before the close of work on the 6th day of September, 2018.
