Akwa Ibom State Coordinator of Atiku Abubakar 2019 Campaign Organization, Otuekong Emmanuel Ibiok, has described the visit of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, a lead aspirant to the Presidency on the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), “as home coming, pomp and celebration as Akwa Ibom remains a stronghold for PDP.”
Otuekong Ibiok, who has mobilizing youths, elders, and women for Governor Udom Emmanuel’s reelection and Atiku Abubakar’s Presidential ambition on the platform of PDP, said “since the advent of democracy in 1999, Akwa Ibom State has shown its unwavering support for the PDP. The visit by our Presidential aspirant on Wednesday will be yet a testament to that fact.”
He implored the people of the state to continue in their total support for PDP and queue behind the Atiku Abubakar presidency and Governor Emmanuel’s second term bid for the development and progress of Nigeria and Akwa Ibom state.
“Atiku Abubakar 2019 Campaign Organization is an interest and mass mobilization organization that is has no ethnic or tribal leaning. It stands for the truth. I call on the people of the state to rally round the former Vice President and Governor Udom Emmanuel in the forthcoming 2019 general elections. They have good vision for Nigeria and Akwa Ibom,” Otuekong Ibiok stressed.
Speaking through a statement made available to newsmen in Uyo by the Organization’s Media Directorate, Otuekong Ibiok said the “visit promises to be an opportunity to showcase the concrete achievements of the Udom Emmanuel’s administration. It will further cement the good relationship between the two seasoned administrators and true stewards of the people.”
He said a reflection on the envisaged visit has also shown that the people of the state were also “upbeat over the visit and see it as a good omen for the Udom Emmanuel’s administration.”
“When it was made known that our principal, the former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, will be visiting Akwa Ibom, indigenes and residents of the state became so excited given that they shared similar ideals with Atiku Abubakar. They see in Atiku Abubakar characteristic of rock-hard commitment to their welfare, humility and love.”
These virtues, according to Otuekong Ibiok, have been translated into providing sterling infrastructure and other social amenities that have endeared them to the people.
