It appears 2019 will certainly be full of intrigues, betrayal and backstabbing, and if information before us is anything to go by, the recent move by Chairman of Essien Udim Local Government Council, Mr. Raphael Isobara, to join his benefactor, Senator Godswill Akpabio, is yet another betrayal.
Investigation by Ibom Telegraph has revealed that Mr. Isobara, whose resignation letter from the office of the Chairman has been intact since April 2019, has openly pledged allegiance to Senator Akpabio and the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Mr. Isobara, who is said to have been in close talk with the APC for the past 47 days, said lack of funding to the Local Government Councils and huge responsibility on him by stakeholders.
Ibom Telegraph also gathered from a source that the ranks and files of the Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) have been infiltrated by Senator Akpabio through Mr. Isobara.
Others suspected to be in the same motive as Isobara are Chairmen of Ikot Ekpene, MBO and Udung Uko.
It is also alleged that Mr. Isobara “has written off the PDP saying that the party stands no chance of victory in the forthcoming 2019 governorship elections.”
