2019: IKONO, PDP INSEPARABLE – MACAIRE TELLS UDOM

Philanthropist and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Ikono/INI Federal seat, Obong Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo, fondly called Macaire, said the reception given Governor Udom Emmanuel and the Divine Mandate Campaign Team by the people of Ikono has shown that “Ikono and PDP are inseparable.”

Speaking with journalists shortly after the Ikono Local Government Rally on Monday, Obong Ukpong-Udo said the people of the area are very appreciative of the Governor’s magnanimity and infrastructural development to the area, adding that “the mammoth crowd today has confirmed the fact that Ikono people are proud of the Governor Udom Emmanuel and are ready to reciprocate his kind gestures and development in the area by voting for him and other PDP candidates.”

He maintained that Remodelling, reconstruction, upgrading and re-equipping of Ikono General Hospital; Construction of the 4.6km Mbiafon Nkwongo-Nung Ukim Road; Upgrading of the Akwa Ibom State College of Arts and Science to College of Science and Technology; Appointment of Ikono sons and daughters to serve in different capacities in government, among other things are reasons why Ikono people will go with Governor Emmanuel and PDP all the way.

Briefing the journalists further, Obong Ukpong-Udo listed some of the Inter-Ministerial projects done by Governor Emmanuel to include Renovation of 4-Classroom Block at Methodist School Ndiya; Renovation of a 4-Classroom Block at Central School, Nung Udoe Itak; Renovation of a 3-Classroom Block at Central School, Nung Udoe Itak; Renovation of a 6-Classroom Block/Office at Government Primary School, Ibiaku Ikot Ukana; Renovation of a 6-Classroom Block/Office at Government Primary School, Mbiabong Ukan; Renovation of 3-Classroom Block/Office at St Michael Catholic School, Ikot Okubo, Ikot Ayan in Ediene Ikono; Renovation of 4-Classroom Block at Government Primary School, Ndiya Mfia, and Renovation of 4-Classroom Block at Primary School, Nkwot Edem Edet.

Obong Ukpong-Udo also hinted that Governor Emmanuel has promise the people of the area that he will construct the 10.5km Nkari Obio Junction-Ediene Atai Junction-Usuk Ediene-Udok Atai Road with a spur from Ediene Atai Junction – Afaha Ediene and to also construct the 16.232km Urua Naira-Ikot Nseyen-Ukpom-Nung Ukim Road with 45M span Bridge.
