Five members of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly whose seats were recently declared vacant have stormed the Assembly Complex with heavily armed policemen and thugs to initiate impeachment process of the Speaker and Governor Udom Emmanuel.
The members, who were excorted to the Assembly Complex, had a mace, conducted plenary, set up statutory committees and suspended 11 members.
The suspended members are Onofiok Luke, Udo Kerian Akpan, Felicia Bassey, Nse Essien, David Lawrence, Usoro Akpanusoh, Ime Okon, Friday Iwok, Asuquo Archibong, Mark Esset, Emmanuel Ekpenyong and Aniekan Uko.
The illegal House also summoned Commissioner for Works, Mr. Ephraim Inyang-Eyen to appear before the House next plenary.
Information before Ibom Telegraph also has that Assembly workers were ordered out of the complex and the Press Secretary to the Speaker, Mr. Kufre Okon, was manhandled by Victor Udofia, while his phone was snatched from him and smashed by Idongesit Ituen.
Before adjourning to Thursday, Ibom Telegraph learned that the self acclaimed Speaker of the House, Sir Nse Ntuen, ordered the withdrawal of all security details attached to Speaker Onofiok Luke and the arrest of any of the 21 suspended members should they come near the Assembly Complex.
