Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Chairman of Forum of State Chairmen of PDP, Obong Paul Ekpo, has charged party faithful and supporters to always embrace peace and be peaceable in all their political engagements for guaranteed justice, credibility and fairness.

Obong Ekpo, who made this known on Tuesday at Ibiaku Ntok Okpo, Ikono Local Government Council Headquarters during a tour of Ikono/INI Federal Constituency, said “Our mission here is to continue to ring the bell of peace among our party members. It is peace alone that will guarantee the success of the forthcoming elections. As a party, we will continually embrace what will strengthen and energize the party structure at all levels. It is obvious that what could culminate into the success of the party activities is our active participation at the grassroots. And this is the reason why we have given a new order to return the party to the grassroots, Chapter, Ward and Unit. Through this new order, the case of Nigeria will change in 2019.”

The State Chairman of PDP further charged members and statutory delegates to the 2019 election to ensure they put forward candidates that will win the elections for PDP.

According to Obong Ekpo, “the work of presenting credible, trusted and committed candidates in the forthcoming elections is in the hands of the delegates. I charge you to nominate only committed candidates that will win the elections at any level for the party and state.”

Obong Ekpo admonished the party faithful, especially Government appointees and elected office holders, to be each other’s keeper at any given time, convene party meetings at the unit and ward level so as to enjoy the party’s rewards.

While thanking the people of the Federal Constituency for the honour done Governor Udom Emmanuel and Senator Godswill Akpabio during the Ikot Ekpene Endorsement Rally, Obong Ekpo said the show of solidarity further strengthen the party as the 2019 election draws near.

In their separate goodwill messages, Mrs. Lovina Umoeffa, Sir S U Akpan, Chief Ukata Akpan, Dr Godwin Udoudo, Hon Itoro Columba, Hon Israel Idaisin, Mrs. Glory Edet, Hon Emmanuel Ekpenyong, among others, thanked the leadership of the party for the visit and resolved to continually partner with the party hierarchy to reposition the party for victory.

They commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for the live touching projects spread across the Federal Constituency, especially the rice farm and processing factory, General Hospital, and Road Infrastructure.

The event featured the inauguration of Local Government Caucus of PDP in Ikono and INI Local Government Areas and presentation of party registers and membership cards for registration of new members and revalidation of old members.
