In furtherance of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s policy thrust on sustainable youth development and empowerment, Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Obong Paul Ekpo, has charged youth leaders of the party across the 329 Wards and 31 chapters in the state to hold tight to the “safe spaces” and unprecedented “atmosphere of participation and better reward” offered them by the administration.

Obong Ekpo, who made this known on Friday at the State party Secretariat, Uyo, during a session by the State PDP Youth Leader, Mr. Enobong Harry, said there could have been no better day to interact with youth leaders of the party than the 2018 international Youth Day, themed Safe Spaces for Youth.

The Akwa Ibom State PDP Chairman assured the youth of better interactions in future and thanked them “for being steadfast to the decision you took in 2015; for being steadfast to justice, equity and fairness to Eket Senatorial District; for being determined to maintain that decision in 2019.”

He reiterated the essence of the 2018 Youth Day as “Youth need safe spaces where they can come together, engage in activities related to their diverse needs and interests, participate in decision making processes and freely express themselves. While there are many types of spaces, safe spaces ensure the dignity and safety of youth,” maintain that only his party, the PDP, can make this possible.

Speaking further, Obong Ekpo said “Governor Udom Emmanuel is a product of excellence. He can compete in every sphere of competition. We recognize the relevance of youth leaders and their works. We will hold on to it and maintain constant interaction for 2019 and beyond.”

“As a party, we will rejig the system for good and for the task before us. This is not a solo game. We need to work together. We need to stay together. We need to win together,” he stressed.
