WE HAVE RESOLVE TO DEFEND UDOM’S LEADERSHIP – EKET STAKEHOLDERS

Stakeholders of Eket Local Government Area have reiterated their resolve to defend, project and support the leadership of Governor Emmanuel, whom they describe as their own, to reign in office for eight uninterrupted years.
This was the general position conveyed during a meeting at the instance of Chairman of the Eket Local Government Council Transition Committee, Mr. Frank Archibong and the Eket Chapter Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Obongiwaad Emmanuel Mbong.
According to them, “henceforth, anyone who feels he can distract the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel from its developmental agenda in the state, through propagation of baseless falsehood must first be ready to receive massive vilification of Eket people.”

They commended Governor Emmanuel for the numerous urbanization and industrial programmes embarked in the area as well as appointment of indigenes of the area into key positions in the current administration.

It was agreed that they will come out strongly against sponsored media attacks against the PDP-led government in the state, wondering why people in the opposition were yet to understand that the 2015 election had since come and gone.

They pledged to continue wooing support from the grassroots for the governor, and insisted that Eket remained 100% PDP.

Highpoint of the meeting, which was attended by the Permanent Secretary, Government House Pastor Umo Bassey, the Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants to the Governor, the members of Eket Transition Committee, Chapter and Ward executives of the PDP, was donations towards acquisition of a more befitting Secretariat Complex for the party in the area.
