ANIEKEME UWAH PROMISES BETTER WELFARE FOR NMA MEMBERS

Dr Aniekeme Aniefiok Uwah has been sworn in as Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Akwa Ibom State Chapter. This was the highlight of the dinner/get to together held at Helemah event center on Saturday July 30 to round off the 2016 NMA week.

Dr. Glory Essien as Vice chairman, Dr Nsikan Nyoyoko as Secretary General, Dr Ikanke Mathias as Assist Secretary, Dr. Abraham Anlak as Treasurer, and Dr Aniekpeno Eyo as Public Relation Officer.
In his acceptance speech, the new NMA chairman, Dr Aniekeme Uwah JP described his election and subsequent swearing in as a turning point for the association and promised to take NMA to greater heights in his 2 year tenure.
He thanked the medical doctors in the state for the confidence reposed on him and his executive committee and revealed his three point agenda to include Expansion of the revenue base of the Association; Enhancement of the welfare of medical doctors across the state and Enhancement of the corporate image of the NMA.
Dr Uwah, who is currently the State epidemiologist, was also until his election the chairman, National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners, AKS branch.
Guests at the event included the AKS commissioner of police , commissioner ministry of environment (Dr Iniobong Essien), The south south caucus of the NMA, The Dean Faculty of medicine, University of uyo( Professor Umoh Iyoho), transition Chairman Uyo LGC (Barr Mfon Ben), South South caucus of the NMA and a host of other dignitaries.
In their good will messages, renown medical professionals including Dr Val Attah , former House of Representatives’ member, Dr Emaeyak Ukpong, and former Health Commissioners, Dr Okon Emah and Ebebe Ukpong, extolled the sterling qualities of Dr Aniekeme Uwah while urging him to explore new ways of making the activities of the NMA in his administration add utmost value to medical practice in the state and country at large.
By his election, Dr Aniekeme Uwah is now the new south-South Caucus Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association.
