AKSG ANNOUNCES PLAN TO BUILD PETROLEUM TANK FARM

Governor Udom Emmanuel has announced plans to establish Petroleum Tank Farm for the storage of petroleum product in the state.

This, according to the Governor, is to complement the supply of the product from various Depots and ease the perennial scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit (Petrol), Domestic Purpose Kero (Kerosine) and Automotive Gas Oil (Diesel) which has affected the consuming public over time.

The Governor announced this at Reigners Bible Church International, Uyo Village Road, where he worshiped.

Governor Emmanuel who sympathized with the consuming public for the hardship experienced and the racketeering by Petroleum Dealers who hiked prices of fuel thereby generating artificial scarcity through hoarding of the product said that Gas fuel would be introduced for vehicles that uses gas explaining that gas is cheaper and economical compared to Petrol and Diesel.

On electricity supply, the State Executive Chief said Oron Road and Osongama axis are currently experiencing fluctuation occasioned by decay in the Distribution Lines and that work is going on at a booster station along Edet Akpan Avenue which when completed would ensure steady supply of power to the area.

He added that similar revamp of electricity infrastructure would be carried out with the establishment of a Booster Station at Nung Oku to supply electricity to Ikot Akpan – Abia, Aka Etinan, Aka Road and other parts of Uyo metropolis.

Governor Emmanuel used the occasion to comment on the high cost of Garri and other staple food and urged the Chairman Technical Committee on Agriculture, Professor Edet Udoh, to lead the people back to the farm hinting that inauguration of the revitalized Hatchery in Uruan Local Government Area would take place May 29.

Preaching on the theme “the prevailing power of blessing”, Apostle Akan Weeks said the blessing of God maketh rich and adds no sorrow.

The Cleric, who culled his sermon from the Book of Proverb Chapter 10 verse 22, stated that most Christians lack the fruit of the blessing because they do not acknowledge God as the source and charged Christians to submit themselves to God’s ordinances, pursue righteousness.

He expressed appreciation to the Governor for attending the Church alongside his Cabinet members.
