… As AKHA Receives Final List of Cabinet Nominees
Self-acclaimed political leader of Oro Nation and immediate past Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Victor Antai, has intensified his ‘cries-for-help’ to make the new cabinet list of Governor Udom Emmanuel, Ibom Telegraph can authoritatively report.
Our investigation confirmed that recent make-believe meetings with some stakeholders of the areas and his super-smooth fraternity with members of the Oro political class, particularly those he had before now regarded as foes, are targeted at making the list.
The spate at which the ex-Commissioner buys Toyota Camry for assumed supporters, drinks and Esiewu for ‘friend’ at the Tarmac and Car Wash, popular hangouts in Uyo, further proved his desperation to be returned to Udom’s Exco.
Findings have also revealed that 10 cars have been given so far as part of his campaign and lobby for a returned.
Speaking, a stakeholder from Udung Uko, Comrade Etim Obiosio, gave the name of the beneficiaries to include Marshal Abia; Ini Osung; Mon Uyeh; Akpakip Oro Student President; Mrs. Blessing; Silas Eyo, and two others from Eket and Urue Offong Oruko.
“The way this young man is fraternizing with us these days tells of his desperation to remain in government. He is busy buying Chieftaincy Titles for himself, creating a nexus for the Oron people, invariably making himself the political leader of Oro Nation. He has even started lobbying the elders of the area who appear to be close to Governor Udom Emmanuel to speak well of him before the Governor,” Comrade Obiosio said.
Comrade Obiosio further accused the ex-Commissioner of wanting to be in government for the sole purpose of acquiring immunity for alleged financial crimes nefarious and clandestine activities in Port Harcourt and in hi locality, Mbo.
Speaking to our reporter, another stakeholder from the area, Chief Asukwo Etim, cautioned the ex-Commissioner to be careful in his selfish quest to remain in government asserting that he had the records of how he looted Mbo Local Government Council and the Ministry of Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, saying “Do you know why he wants to be in government against all odds? Hon. Victor Antai wants to be returned as a Commissioner or Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel just to get relevance and an assumed immunity to protect him from prosecution.”
“When I see him now appealing for solidarity and support from every Dick, Tom and Harry I begin to wonder he is not the same young man that played god when he was in government. I thought he was indispensable. Things have changed, and things will continue to change,” he queried.
On how the ex-Commissioner looted the Mbo Local Government Council and the Local Government Ministry, Chief Etim said there are records of how many projects purportedly completed in the books but not done.
“I’m a stakeholder in the Akwa Ibom Project today, and I have all the records, I advise him to be careful,” he added.
