UDOM’S ACHIEVEMENTS AS GOVERNOR WILL MAKE A’IBOM LESS DEPENDENT ON OIL – EKUWEM

Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Government (SSG), Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem, has lauded his boss, Mr Udom Emmanuel for his achievements since assumption of office as Governor of the State.
Ekuwem, who spoke during an interactive session in his office with the leadership and participants of Course 27 of the National Defence College, Abuja, who were on study tour of the state, said the innovative policies and programmes of Udom Emmanuel led administration, apart from creating employment opportunities for the teeming youths, will make the state less dependent on oil as revenue earner, adding that when petroleum products will no longer be largely patronised, the state will have sustainable source of livelihood to fall back on.
The SSG, who said he was impressed with the “superlative performance” of Governor Emmanuel in the state, noted that the Governor’s achievements in the areas of industrialisation, agriculture, human capacity and infrastructural developments are geared towards taking the youth off the streets for gainful employment so that they could be useful to themselves, their families and the society at large.
The State Chief Scribe also lauded the Governor for serving the state meritoriously, especially  his determination to continually initiate policies and programmes that will enhance the economic fortune and well-being of the generality of Akwa Ibom people and residents.
Describing the theme of the study tour of his Guests, “Management of the Youth and National Security:The Akwa Ibom State Experience”, as very apt, Dr Ekuwem said the visit of the college to the state at the time of the on-going Amnesty programme offered by the State Government to members of several cult, militancy and kidnapping groups, among other social vices, was divinely arranged.
The SSG who acknowledged the sacrifices of the military in keeping the corporate identity and Integrity of Nigeria intact, stressed that the Amnesty Programme was another laudable effort of Governor Emmanuel-led Administration in the management of the youth to enhance National Security in the state in particular and Nigeria in general.
Earlier, the leader of the team, Air Vice Marshal DL Sanda, said they were in the state for Geo-strategic study tour which he noted formed  parts of the College Curriculum.
He explained that at the end of the tour, participants would turn-in their reports about Akwa Ibom State.
Featuring at the interactive session was power point presentation on “Dakkada” Philosophy of the present administration by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Marketing and Brand Management, Mr Sam Edoho.
