UDOM TO RENOVATE LODGE AT N1.8BILLION

Despite dwindling economy in the Nigeria and Akwa Ibom State, Governor Udom Emmanuel has started renovation work at the Akwa Ibom Governor’s Lodge, Abuja.

The contract, estimated to worth about N1.8billion, is alleged to be awarded to Udom bosom friend’s company after bid by a Romanian company failed due to issues with Bureau of Public Procurement.

Many say the renovation work is another conduit pipe to defraud the people of Akwa Ibom State of their commonwealth, maintaining that the ultra-modern lodge, which was recently built by his predecessor, does not need such renovation.
Condemning the act, a political stalwart from Uyo Senatorial District who witnessed the renovation work said “I was privy to the proposed renovation of the Governor’s Lodge and I decided to make my findings. You will not believe that they are removing and replacing the same roofing sheet, even the tiles. This is the height of misappropriation of public funds.”

Our reporter is currently investigating the alleged misappropriation of Akwa Ibom monies by the Udom Emmanuel’s administration. As they progress, bit-by-bit reports shall be provided. Stay tune…
