TAKE ADVANTAGE OF UDOM’S 8-POINT AGENDA, ETTEH TASKS NGBA NDIAK OBOLO

Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Special Duties, Rt. Hon. Okpolupm Etteh, has tasked a frontline socio-cultural group in the state, Ngba Ndiak Obolo (Obolo People’s Assembly), to explore and take advantage of the 8-Point Agenda of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s administration for the benefit of its people.

The Commissioner, who stated this on Thursday when executive members of the group, led by Apostle Samuel Ekah, paid him a courtesy call in his office, also charged the group to be steadfast, united and continually synergize for the development of its people and progress of Akwa Ibom.

Rt. Hon. Etteh said the synergy could be on education, a critical component of the 8-Point Agenda, and other empowerment pogrammes that would assist and encourage the Obolo people.

He commended members of the group for their support to the Udom Emmanuel’s administration and appealed that their pursuit, at all times, should be love, peace, unity and the advancement of the people they represent.

While challenging members of the group to see themselves as partners and stakeholders of government by protecting its infrastructure and assets in their respective areas, the Commissioner further called on the people to always pray for Governor Udom Emmanuel and leaders in state at all levels.

In his address, the International President of the group, Apostle Samuel Ekah, thanked the State Governor for the honour done them by appointing one of their sons (Rt. Hon. Etteh) into his cabinet, maintaining that “the Commissioner is illustrious son of Obolo.”

Apostle Ekah said the group was formed to ensure that Obolo people are heard and seen and “since inception, the group has collaborated other socio-cultural groups in the state in total support of government policies and has also brought the Obolo people together through its annual meeting, the Obolo Converge.”

He also used the opportunity to present some of the group’s needs to include Buses, land for construction of its Permanent Liaison Office and sponsorship of the 2019 Obolo Converge.

The International President was accompanied on the visit by a Commissioner in the Law Reforms Commission, Chief Ufikairo Efet; Vice Chairman of Ibeno Local Government Council, Hon. Sunday Isokobo; Ibeno Chapter Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Emah Ibok, Daniel Solomon, Barrister Diamond Akpanika among others.
