Earlier today, the wife of the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Mrs Itohowo Aniekan Bassey, led the team of Legislators Wives, under the auspices of the Legislators Wives Association, LEWA to visit patients at the General Hospital at Ituk Mbang, Uruan LGA.

During the visit, nursing mothers at the Maternity ward were given gifts such as Diapers, wipes, flannel and other items for their new borns with cash .

In her remarks, the President of LEWA, Mrs Itohowo Bassey said the aim of their visitation was to celebrate love among the patients and also to support the kind gesture of the wife of the state Governor, Mrs Martha Udom Emmanuel to the indigenes of Akwa lbom State.

One of the nursing mothers, Mrs ldongesit Asuquo thanked the LEWA team for their kind gesture and prayed God to reciprocate their kindness a hundred fold.

Patients at the Maternity, female , male , children, accident and emergency wards were also visited and handed gifts items.

On behalf of the hospital management and the patient, the Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, Dr Mary Udoh appreciated the LEWA team for their show of love. She also thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for renovating and equipping the hospital saying the new facilities has boosted their capacity for more effective health care delivery.

She called on the members of the community to come out in their masses when ever they are faced with health challenges , noting that there are capable health personnel that are willing to save lives.
