Caucus members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Essien Udim, on monday, unanimously reaffirmed their resolve to stand on the premise of equity, justice and fairness in the bid to reelect Governor Udom Emmanuel for a second term.

The Caucus members, who met at the instance of the Essien Udim Local Government Council Chairman, Elder Raphael Isobara, noted that their stance will sustain the unity and love among indigenes of the state across the three Senatorial Districts.

They spoke glowingly about Governor Emmanuel’s massive and impressive industrialization drive, which, according to them, has placed the state as the second most investor friendly state in Nigeria.

The apex leadership of the party in the area through separate remarks by its leaders including Chief Michael Afangideh, Hon E.E.P. Umanah, Barr Imowo Okpokpo, Hon Barr Martins Umanah and Dr Emmanuel Abraham, reaffirmed the Caucus’ decision to continually ring the bell of support to PDP and to ensure that Governor Emmanuel, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Engr Chris Ekpenyong, Rt Hon Nsikak Ekong, Barr Esse Umoh and other candidates of the party are elected in 2019.

The decision, according to them, was “borne out of patriotic zeal, commitment to the party’s constitution and Akwa Ibom Project. The prime purpose is to sustain peace and tranquility that the people of the state are enjoying.”

The stakeholders took out time to reel out the various benefits that the success of Governor Emmanuel and other PDP candidates in 2019 general elections will bring to the people of area, adding “It is time we secure the future of our children in the hands of posterity. Any negative decision and action made today might affect tomorrow’s engagements negatively. Thus, the need to come together and support the just course by giving unflinching support to PDP.”

Addressing the newsmen on the Caucus’ decision, Elder Isobara said “One year down the lane of good governance, the zeal to do more work is refreshing, ability to actualize the dream is lively, the choice to redeem the pledge of loyalty to the party that gave me the platform to emerge as the Chief Executive remains unshaken, the desire to fulfill more campaign promises is unparallel, the decision to reaffirm the resolve to take the area to the next level economically, politically and otherwise is not negotiable, the wish to unify the area is a priority and the determination to record more unprecedented successes in all ramifications is apt and certain.”

“I have resolved not to disappoint my people or betray the trust and confidence they all bestowed on me a year ago and so I will defend the mandate that I was given till the end of my tenure,” he added.

The Chairman, who described Governor Emmanuel as a kindhearted man with good conscience, said that it was right for the people of the state to elect such a financial expert and economy manager, whom in the face of paucity of funds is not found wanting in the payment of salaries and bonuses to civil servants, massive construction of road, education and health infrastructures across the state.

However, earlier in the Day, the wife of the Chairman, Mrs. Magdalene Isobara, wasn’t left out of the one year anniversary/Christmas celebration with the stakeholders as she played host to women across the eleven wards in the area and the twelve villages of Ekpenyong Atai Ward, the host community.

Addressing the women who turned up in large numbers for the Thank You Meeting, Mrs Isobara expressed gratitude to God for mercies, divine protection, favour and direction upon her husband and the leadership of the Local Government.

She said that the achievements so far recorded could only be made possible by OnlyGod, assuring the women of better days with the reelection of Governor Emmanuel and other PDP candidates in 2019.

Mrs Magdalene used the medium to inform the women that “with the immeasurable show of love and support, the preparation for the successful reelection of the Governor will birthe a new political era in the state beyond the imagination of human and the success story will not be told without the mention of the women’s contributions.”

The events had all the political bigwigs in the area in attendance and cash gifts, Food items, wrappers among others were given in appreciation.
