IBIONO IBOM L.G.A: A SLICE OF HISTORY, AND A TOAST TO THE FUTURE!

A lot of Akwa Ibom people do know that Ibiono Ibom L.G.A was created out of Itu L.G.A in 1996.

However, a lot of our people may not know that a foremost sociocultural organization founded in 1937- the Ibiono Ibom Welfare and Development Union (IWADU) was at the forefront of the agitation for the creation of what is now known as Ibiono Ibom L.G.A.

For the several years it has existed, IWADU as an organization has through her various chapters all around the world fostered social cohesion among the people of the Local Government Area, within and outside Akwa Ibom. It has also made significant contributions to the campaign of keeping Akwa Ibom as one strong, united and indivisible entity.

The organization has also successfully pursued several initiatives geared towards rural development and educational support for the people of Ibiono Ibom LGA.

Tomorrow, July 13, this foremost sociocultural organization will be taking delivery of a state-of-the-art Multipurpose hall with office spaces, built and donated to the Union by lawyer and Social Development advocate, Comrade Ini Ememobong.

The idea driving the donation of the multipurpose hall is the need to support organizations and institutions in the society that promote the ideals of social cohesion and unity amongst the people.

The future can be brighter if our acts becomes the glue that holds people together in our different societies.

Stand up and play your part!
