HENSEK Hails Gov Emmanuel Over S’Court Victory

… Says Newspaper Publications Are The Handiwork of Fifth Column

A frontline businessman and Managing Director of Hensek Integrated Company, an outstanding indigenous construction company that has undertaken key projects across the Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria, Engr. Uwem Okoko, has hailed the Supreme Court for validating the Governorship of Mr. Udom Emmanuel as the authentic Governor of Akwa Ibom State.

Engr. Okoko said that the victory has put paid to all the cynicism of detractors, whose stock in trade was to derail the Governor from his focus of providing superior programmes and development for the people of the state.

He said with the victory, the business community and the entire people of the state can now heave a sigh of relief as the state would witness unparalleled development.

Speaking during the interdenominational thanksgiving service held at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium (Nest of Champions), Uyo, Engr. Okoko said “Akwa Ibom people have more than enough reasons to celebrate the obvious victory at the Supreme Court.”

Engr. Okoko, whose company is also at the forefront of youth empowerment through employment, skills acquisition trainings and sport development, lauded the zeal of Governor Emmanuel who soon after his inauguration hit the ground running with several ground breaking projects, which would stimulate the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)  and create employment to the teeming youths of the state.

On the proposed jetty at Ikot Abasi, the Hensek boss said that the jetty, when constructed, would bring about several complimentary industries and aid in the haulage petroleum products as well as reduce traffic from the other seaports, in his words: “I want to thank the Governor for the siting of the International Jetty, accompanied by dredging of the Imo River to allow ocean going vessels access the jetty at Ikot Abasi. This will turn Ikot Abasi to industrial hub of the state because most of the industries will evacuate their products through the jetty.” This, according to him, would attract other subsidiary firms in the downstream sector of the economy.

He said for the Governor’s vision to consider the coastlines in his development drive, especially the Deep Seaport Project, signals that Akwa Ibom State would become the next Singapore of Africa and called on the people to sheathe their sword of rivalry and join hands for the progress and development of Akwa Ibom State.

“I laud the Governor for establishing the Coconut Plantation and Refinery in Mkpat Enin, Ikot Abasi and Eastern Obolo, and for the construction of Ikot Usop-Ikot Edeghe Road that links Mkpat Enin to Ikot Abasi and for the construction of the Ibom Power Phase II in Ikot Abasi to compliment the Phase I of the project. The site has been completely cleared and fencing is almost at completion. Once the design is finished, the actual construction work will commence. I want to commend the Governor for sending youths of Ikot Abasi on training in the Power Sector, which is the next big thing in Nigeria. Ikot Abasi is not left out of the industrialization vision of Governor Udom Emmanuel.”

On the recent publication in some of the local tabloids crediting him as saying “Udom Has Not Done Anything For Ikot Abasi,” Engr. Okoko said “that is a cheap blackmail.” He described the publications as the handiwork of a few disgruntled elements whose duty and delight is to play the fifth column rather than contribute their quota to the wellbeing of the society, they chose to heat up the polity, he concluded.
