GUNMEN ABDUCT AKWA IBOM NEWSPAPER PUBLISHER WHO CRITICIZES NSIMA EKERE
Publisher of The Guide Newspaper, Prince Emmanuel Sam, has been picked up by policemen allegedly sent by Inspector General of Police.
Prince Sam recently denounced his membership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and also mounted a campaign against bloodshed by APC in their primaries in Akwa Ibom State.
He was a fierce critic of the poor leadership posture of Mr. Nsima Ekere whose abysmal leadership of NDDC has recorded little impact in his home state.
He is said to have been whisked away to Ikot Akpan Abia the State Police Headquarters.
Meanwhile, information has it that more names of media experts have been penciled down for arrests by police

As part of efforts by the APC and her chieftains to clamp down on Media in the state, some names of media personnel penciled down for arrest have been revealed.
Our source said several media chiefs and media aides to the governor will be arrested in the days to come.
A credible police source told our reporter that the arrest of the Publisher of the Guide Newspaper, Prince Emmanuel Sam was to test the waters and see reaction, as more of such arrest are underway.
The police chief who pleaded anonymity confirmed earlier reports that a special team has arrived Uyo from Abuja for the purpose of arresting, detaining and quizzing media personnel who are seen to be critical of the APC and their chieftains.
Our source said top on the list of those pencilled down for arrest are Comrade Nsibiet John (Publisher of The Ink Newspaper), Ifreke Nseowo-Connoisseur (Publisher of TheMail Newspaper), Kufre Etuk (Editor in Chief of The Nigerian Pulse Newspaper), Thomas Thomas Tomas and Solomon Johnny who are both from the Global Concord Newspaper.
Some of the Bloggers and social media influencers to be arrested, according to our source are Utitofon Morgan Ukpong of Sitippe Ke Akwa Ibom, Idorenyin Umana, Torobong Ekpo and Chairman of Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emmanuel Owuala.
Aniekeme Finbarr, Joseph Okon and Essien Ndueso are some of the governor’s aides whose names are on the police “blackbook”.
The source told our reporter that the list was sent to the Force Headquarters, Ikot Akpan Abia and Uyo office of the DSS since last week.
Our source said though there are more names on the list, he could not divulge more to our reporter for reasons best known to him.
Meanwhile, the Publisher of The Guide newspaper was released this evening after being arrested and detained by the police.
The Uyo-born media chief was an APC chieftain but left the party few weeks ago after former Governor of the State, Senator Godswill Akpabio joined the party from PDP.
Since then, he has been very critical of his former party via his write ups. (Source: THEMAIL)
