GOVERNOR EMMANUEL MOURNS UDO EKPENYONG

Governor Udo. Emmanuel has expressed deep grief over the demise of the Akwa Ibom Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon Udo Ekpenyong.
A statement signed by the State Commissioner for Information and Special Duties, Comrade Ini Ememobong, said “The Governor, HE, Mr. Udom Emmanuel and entire Government and people of Akwa Ibom state have been thrown into deep mourning by the demise of Obong Udo Ekpeyong, State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party.”
“The late State Chairman is said to have died early in the morning of Tuesday, 19th January, 2021 from complications resulting from COVID-19.”
“Before his death, he had served the Udom  Emmanuel administration as the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs before resigning to contest as State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party.”
“The Governor, Deputy Governor and indeed all members of the State Executive Council deeply mourn his passing and pray God to grant his soul repose, the statement stated.
