FOLMA TO PARTNER A’IBOM ASSEMBLY FOR EFFECTIVE REPORTAGE

Forum of Legislators’ Media Aides, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, FOLMA, a conglomerate of legislative reporters working for the general purpose of projecting the ideals and programmes of lawmakers serving in the 7th Assembly, has reiterated resolve to partner with the leadership of the 7th Assembly, under the Speakership of Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey.

The forum, led by the Media Aide to the House Leader and Member Representing Oruk-Anam State Constituency, Mr Amadie Akpabio, reached the resolution in her First General Congress for 2020, held Tuesday, 28th January, 2020 at The Amazon Resort, Uyo.

The 26-member Media Professionals, however expressed confidence in the leadership of the Assembly, noting that, the crop of lawmakers that made up the 7th Assembly were known professionals in various fields of endeavour whose wealth of experiences, when fully harnessed, would translate to effective lawmaking as well as boost the successful Completion Agenda of the incumbent administration under Governor Emmanuel.

While canvassing for co-oporation and harmonious working relationship amongst her members and the Assembly’s Press Corps, for effective coverage and reportage of the activities and programmes of the Assembly, the body, noted with delight, the successes so far recorded by the Assembly, and urged that the tempo be maintained even as they advocated that effort be made to raise the bar.

FOLMA however used the occasion to congratulate the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey and the 25 members of the Assembly upon their resumption for the 2020 legislative year and successes at various level of legislative engagements and oversight functions, urging the Assembly to fully implement her agenda beyond expectations.

Earlier, the forum also thanked one of its patrons, Rt. Hon. Aniefiok Dennis Akpan and Chairman, House Committee on Information for playing key roles in ensuring stability and effective information management in the Assembly.

The body also extended felicitations to the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Comrade Emmanuel Effiong and other relevant stakeholders for meritting the huge confidence of their respective Bosses via their appointments.

They pledged to implore modern mechanism to work together with all stakeholders within and outside Assembly for the general interest of the 7th Assembly.
