FG INAUGURATES NEW TEAM TO RENEGOTIATE 2009 AGREEMENT WITH ASUU

The Federal Government, through its Minister for Education, Adamu Adamu, has inaugurated a team, led by Wale Babalakin, to renegotiate the terms and agreements made with the Academic Staff Union of Universities in 2009.

“The inauguration of the Renegotiating Team is significant as it confirms to the unions that government is committed to keeping to its own side of the promise and in ensuring that an environment that is conducive for teaching, learning, research and community service is engendered through lasting industrial harmony in all our tertiary education institutions.”

Biodun Ogunyemi, President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU. He said: “This ‎is a dream come true, and we only hope it does not end up at the level of dream.”

The first full meeting of the FG Team for Renegotiation of the 2009 ASUU Agreement is scheduled for March 6.
