#EndSars Protest: Akwa Ibom PFN Sues For Sustained Peace

...Encourage Victim of Police Brutality to Submit Setitions to the Judiciary Panel of Enquiry Sitting in Uyo.

The Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Akwa Ibom State Chapter Bishop Emmanuel Etim has called on protesting youths to cease agitation as the government has promised to look into their grievances.

Bishop Etim who is also the Senior Pastor of Faith and Power Church International said that now that the youths voice has been heard, they should remain peaceful and let the relevant authorities take charge of the situation. He decried the vandalism and looting of government and private properties by hoodlums who highjacked the protest to cause wanton destruction as action capable of orchestrating anarchy.
*”Akwa Ibom State is a very peaceful State and we must sustain that peace. I call on our Youths to cease all hostilities and give peace a chance. As Christians, we should read and imbibe Philippians 4:6-7 and always go to God in prayer”* he surmised.

Bishop Etim thanked the State Government led by the Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel for immediately putting in modalities to de-escalate the tension due to the protests and subsequent highjack of the protest by irate youths who engaged in wanton destruction of properties. He also encouraged All inhabitants in Akwa Ibom State to take advantage of the Judicial panel of enquiry to look into police brutality in the State as constituted the State Governor by submitting documents of any wrong doing by the Nigerian Police for immediate retribution as announced by the Government.

While eliciting the support of opinion leaders, traditional rulers, political leaders, clergies etc to speak up and assuage the youths to always thread the path of peace while seeking for Justice, Bishop Etim also called on the Government to roll out programs that will benefit the youths like creating jobs and enabling environment for business to thrive ” the government should also do more for the youths, jobs should be created and the Asuu -federal government impasse should be resolved so that our children will graduate from Schools in the right time. People centered projects should also be inaugurated . I believe that when these and more people oriented programs are done by the government, the youths will not find reasons for restiveness.” The bishop opined
