The stars seem to be aligning for the effable Delta state gubernatorial aspirant, Dr Cairo Ojougboh. His galvanizing efforts appears to be paying off hugely as a busy weekend sees massive turn out of APC leaders in the three Local Governments that make up the Ndokwa Federal Constituency to Launch his One Man One vote in Kwale. More so, Prominent Ijaw leaders have thrown their weight behind the indefatigable leader.
Multiple endorsements and support seems to be following the gubernatorial ambitions of the Delta born politician as notable Ijaw leaders across board are pulling behind the imposing maverick.
Dr Cairo met with the Zuckumor brothers; Tito and Frank Zuckumor on Sunday in their country home in Warri. The Zuckumor brothers and other notable Ijaw leaders have thrown their weight behind the gubernatorial aspiration of Dr Cairo. “We are keying into the gubernatorial aspiration of Dr Cairo Ojougboh because we have confidence in him and we can trust him to deliver. This is not limited to the APC but across board, I am telling you in good confidence that should Dr Cairo clinch the ticket of the APC, massive support is lined up for him from the Ijaw of Delta state” one of the leaders said.
Delta South APC had unanimously agreed to the ceding of the 2019 gubernatorial ticket to Delta North. Though the party in Delta state had said there is no zoning in the 2019 gubernatorial election, but that didn’t in anyway change the position of the Delta South APC. From the unfolding trend, the Delta South appears to be zeroing in on Dr Cairo.
On Saturday, the leaders of APC in Ndokwa federal constituency comprising of Ndokwa East, Ndokwa west and Ukwuani Local Government Areas gathered for Dr Cairo’s One Man One Vote crusade. The crusade however was preceded by an interactive session, a part of which was closed to the press. The interaction was principally centered on the unity of purpose among the Ndokwa APC and Ndokwa nation. One of the leaders Chief VOT Abanum described the convergence as a testament to the leadership abilities of Dr Cairo and a good way to go for the Ndokwa nation. “That leaders of varying interest can gather here at the request of Dr Cairo Ojougboh is quite unprecedented. Our candor and open interaction here has strengthened us and this is sure a good way to go.” Notable among the leaders in that gathering are Chief VOT Abanum, Chief Dr Greg Oyibode, Engr Elvis Kaine , Chief Ngozi B Emeni , Engr Jon Tom Onah , Chief Chris Ijibike, Chief Charles Olisa, O S Ogokuni Esq , Dr Mike Otutu, Engr Sylvester Ojie among numerous other Ndokwa leaders.
Delta APC is going into the 2019 gubernatorial elections with notable political gladiators and it is not insulated of intrigues but Dr Cairo seems to be pulling it all together. It is in the trending media that the APC gubernatorial aspirants gathered in the country home of the leader of the Delta state APC leader, Chief Omehor O’Tega, to deliberate on the issues that were not extensively made open to the press, but is presumed to be predicated on the forthcoming congress.
