COVID-19 LOCKDOWN: OEF DISTRIBUTES ANOTHER ROUND OF PALLIATIVES TO IBENO COMMUNITIES

 

The Okpolupm Etteh Foundation (OEF), a community-based Non-Governmental Organization committed to the development, empowerment and progress of the rural communities in Akwa Ibom, on Friday, delivered another round of food items worth millions of Naira as palliatives to support Ibeno communities during the COVID-19 lockdown period.

 

In the words of the Foundation’s Coordinator, Mr. Ekoakwaha Etteh, “Barely seven days after we donated bags of rice, hand sanitizers, disinfectants, antiseptic soaps and facemasks to support the efforts of Ibeno Local Government Council and Akwa Ibom State Government in combating the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, OEF has further backed up its donation with the supply over 120 bags of garri and rice to assist the people of the communities celebrate the Easter at ease. The Foundation is concern about the welfare of the people of the area.”

 

Mr. Etteh reiterated that “the Foundation is not just committed to the welfare and wellbeing of the people of Ibeno but will do everything within its power to ensure it is achieved.

 

“The pandemic is of global concern and as such it concerns every one of us. We will go all the way to support the fight and campaign against the spread of COVID-19 in the state,” he added.

 

The items were received by the Ibeno Local Government COVID-19 Committee and Chairman of Council, Pastor Ifum Henry, who was represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Sunday Isokobo, at Upenekang.

 

Hon. Isokobo also expressed delight and appreciation to the Foundation for the show of love and commitment to the welfare of the people of Ibeno, assuring of equitable sharing of the items.
